Summary/Abstract: The text analyzes Ivan Vazov’s tenth collection of poems – "Songs of a wanderer” – and its essential role as a border. The magazine reviews about Vazov’s book have been collected. Doctor Krastio Krastev and Pencho Slaveikov’s changed opinion about the artist Vazov is also given attention to. In the beginning, “Misal” magazine does not only give mostly positive reviews to Ivan Vazov’s works; he also publishes on its pages. However, the situation changes after “Songs of a wanderer” appears. The article shows the main reason for this change - in his collection of poems Vazov has an approach to the nature which is totally different from that of Pencho Slaveikov. The text shows the polarized reviews in “Misal”,”Nadejda”, “Novo vreme”, “Priaporetz” and “Letopisi”. All of this demonstrates the essential role of Vazov’s collection of poems in the literary life in Bulgaria at the border between XIX and XX century.
