Summary/Abstract: Our objective is to study language phenomena in a territorial context marked by significant migratory movements such as the Casamance region. We highlight the impact of foreign languages on local ones because the geographical location of this area favours the presence of other languages that are either official in the neighboring countries or languages resulting from migration. The study of language use in the border area thus involves taking into account all the intralinguistic and extralinguistic variables, linguistic attitudes and the question of vehicular language in the border areas of Casamance. The study shows the real impact of foreign languages which are considered by some speakers as a threat to local languages and as a source of enrichment by others.
