Agent causality – ‟per accidens” and ‟per se”

Summary/Abstract: Insofar as agent causality still plays a role in contemporary philosophy, there is no longer a distinction between causality per accidens and causality per se. Using various examples, I will highlight the importance of this distinction for philosophical analysis. Furthermore, the central determinations of these two types of agent causality will be presented and conclusions for causal theory will be drawn.
