Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is the archival data obtained in 2017 from the nationwide sociological research of high school youth (also called upper secondary school in the context of the 1999 reform of the education system) and academic youth, entitled Youth and values. It concerns the field of interest and learning achievements of secondary school youth. It is worth noting that the 2017 research was a continuation of the series of socio-religious analyzes carried out in 1988, 1998 and 2005. The 2017 research resulted in the publication of two independent publications – Janusz Marianski’s original monograph entitled Religious and moral condition of high school youth in the years 1988–1998–2005–2017 (2018) and a work edited by Sławomir H. Zaręba and Marcin Zarzecki, entitled Between construction and deconstruction of the universes of meaning. Research into the religiosity of academic youth in the years 1988–1998–2005–2017 (2018). In the first mentioned work, however, the data on the interests and learning achievements of school students were not discussed, hence they are presented collectively for the first time in this text. It is worth noting that the interests of young people are quite consistent (preference for music and popular media culture, less interest in high and elite culture), while the forms of participation and the idea of interests (primarily virtualization) change.
