Summary/Abstract: In issue №103 of State Gazette of 04.12.2020 was published the Law for Amending and Supplementing the Family Code. It reflects a radical change in the position of the legislator when regulating the child’s origin. The article presents an analysis and a standpoint on the amendments and additions in art. art. 62, 63 and 66 of the Family Code. They address the contestation of a child’s parental origin based on paternity presumption and on parental recognition. A legal capacity of third persons to contest and litigate the paternity of a child has been introduced. The paternity presumption can be challenged by anyone who claims he is the father. And the recognition- by any third person. It has been specified that the amended provisions have been granted a retroactive effect back to/since 01.10.2009.
