The Actuality of Chrysostomic Homily I on Philippians

Summary/Abstract: We cannot define a unique, definitive, correct translation, i.e., a “canonic” translation, we can eventually find a translation as being obsolete. The present paper does not challenge the previous Romanian version of the Chrysostomic Homily, but rather emphasizes the difficulties, the hurdles, posed by the religious oration, aimed to a specific audience, to former as well as to contemporary decipherer of the Greek text in his/her effort to preserve the balance between the literal meaning and the expressivity and fluency of the original in the Romanian translation.
