Summary/Abstract: Starting from the ancient science of alchemy, we can draw a parallel with the development and evolution of the human spirit. Psychologists like Carl Jung brought to the attention of the public, the becoming fazes, regarding the matter, comparing them with the human unconscious and its way magnum opusof the spirit,the elightenment.This social concerns, that led to the creation of scientific concepts, philosophical or esoteric, are also very well reflected in arts. All the arts have taken this concepts andhighlighted them throughout history to the present day. From Sophocles to Nic Gotham, one can see, some artists preocupation was to depict this first step of becaming, symbolically calledNigredo
