Summary/Abstract: From past to present, it is seen that artists benefit from irony while transferring the world, events and situations in the world to their works. The phenomenon of irony, which has emerged as a product of the artists' critical attitudes while interpreting the outside world, includes the artist's own perspective and stance against life rather than being an artistic means of expression in his work. Irony, which finds its place in works of art for the purpose of raising awareness, satirical or critical of all kinds of technological, political, cultural or social problems of the moment, and the problems that exist but are swept under the rug by ignoring, is also an expression of the sensitivity of the individual artist. In this article, which was prepared using literature research and visual research methods, the use of the concept of irony in visual arts is explained with examples. In addition, the connection of the sculptures of Isaac Cordal, which is the subject of the article, with the place where they are placed, the messages he wants to give to the audience, and the analysis of the effect of the ironic language he used while providing this, on his works are emphasized.
