Summary/Abstract: This article will analyse the three most important documents tackling the issue of human trafficking at international and regional level: the United Nations Palermo Protocol (2000), the Council of Europe Convention (2005) and the EU Directive (2011), as well as the different paradigms and approaches they adopt in order to cover the most important aspects of anti trafficking – prevention, prosecution, protection and partnerships (the 4P strategy). Similarities and differences between these three documents will be closely analysed, as well as advantages and disadvantages they engender for victims of human trafficking from a human rights perspective.
