Summary/Abstract: The current paper acknowledges the importance assigned nowadays at different levels to environmental aspects, in general, and to recycling, in particular, and builds on the centrality of the notion of recycling to scrutinize the way it has permeated and influenced the discourse of a furniture manufacturing. It does so by using the instruments of critical literature review and considers a number of representative articles on the topic, European Union documents and documents issued by companies that produce furniture. While special emphasis is placed on companies located in Europe, the reference to areas outside Europe has also been considered relevant, from a comparative perspective. The paper aims at contributing to a better understanding of the emergent Romanian discourse of furniture recycling within the European context
