Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes Necmettin Erbakan's policy towards Central Asia through his works and discourses. The purpose of this article is not to reveal the relations between Turkey and the Central Asian Republics in all its details. In this context, it attempts to respond to the claims that Erbakan was unable to develop relations with the Central Asian Turkish Republics. This article consists of five sub-titles. In the first sub-title, Erbakan's foreign policy approach is presented. This serves an opportunity to understand the perceptions and actions of the leader of the Welfare Party towards the Central Asian countries. Secondly, based on his speeches during the years of opposition Erbakan’s thoughts about the countries of Central Asia and regional powers are analyzed. In the following part Erbakan’s visits to Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries in 1992 are emphasized. Finally, Erbakan's policies towards the region during his term as prime minister are assessed.
