Summary/Abstract: Juliusz Daniel Jedliński, born in Szadek, during his studies at Warsaw University took part as ficer in the November Uprising (1830-1831), for which he was awarded the Order of Virtuti Militari. After the defeat oh the uprising he emigrated to France. He became a teacher in a Polish school in Batignolles, and in the years 1855-1860 was its director. Under the supervision of French professors he elaborated a detailed geological map of France. He also lectured in Paris School of Mining and ran courses in geology. Another field of his activity was journalism and poetry oriented to the Polish immigrant community in France. Hotel Lambert was his political option. He died in Paris.
