Thematic Analysis of Articles on Youth Poverty

Summary/Abstract: One of the research topics of sociology, which tries to understand and explain the laws of social structure, is the phenomenon of poverty. This study aims to reveal the themes through which youth poverty is investigated. For this purpose, articles in the domestic and foreign literature on “youth poverty” were subjected to theme analysis. 50 articles in the Ulakbim/Google Academy database and 349 articles in the Science Direct database were reviewed. According to the data obtained, it is seen that youth poverty is handled in the form of family, development/empowerment/incentive, disadvantage, education, economy, youth, human rights, health, violence/crime and poverty categories and sub-themes of these categories. In the foreign literature, it is seen that there is a concentration on issues such as health, human rights, development-strengthening-incentive, while in the domestic literature, more studies are carried out on subjects such as economy, education and family.
