Summary/Abstract: The article treats the problem of ethical gaslighting – the situation when a significant other disqualifies something that you consider to be your true consciousness. How is ethical self-consciousness possible when you cannot be certain: is that your conscience talking or an unauthentic semblance of conscience? The article proposes a hyper-cartesian strategy in ethics (thematization of the role of genius malignus).
