Rhetorical amplification towards argumentation on gender studies in Polish political communication

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to show how rhetorical amplification affects discourse in giving emotive overlay to scientific terms. The study analyzes the Polish gender discourse in its political variant. The article consists of five parts. After delineating the notions of gender and discourse in the introductory part, attention is paid to the devices of rhetorical amplification. A sample of Polish-language online texts featuring various stances in the gender-related debate is subjected to a typological analysis of amplification mechanisms used.
