Summary/Abstract: Having the traces of the period it was used and becoming the partner of history, jewelry has been an indispensable clothing accessory for human being. With various fields of usage and purposes, jewelry has been exposed to changes with what time brings about and has been in a transformation. Artistic jewelry coming out as a result has gained new identities with different forms, sizes, concepts, and materials. In particular, the use of innovative, different alternative materials having no economic value were preferred with the emergence of contemporary jewelry concept and designers started to turn any material into a jewelry freely with an artistic expression away from any kind of concern. Use of alternative material in contemporary jewelry concept today has brought extraordinary expressions forcing the limits in design. With the removal of limits in using material in jewelry, the purpose of jewelry decoration has become as an expression of a work of art besides its main purpose. It is likely to see that a great many materials such as ceramics, metal, wood, organic materials, gemstones have been used alone or together in jewelry. Textile comprising all processes starting from treating raw materials up to turning them into a product is one of them. Because textile is a wide-ranging concept in technical and material terms, it could be used in various disciplines. Offering limitless choices in terms of giving desired texture, colour, size and form to the product, textiles have been a material which are preferred by artists in jewelry application in extraordinary expressions. The purpose of the study is to investigate the textile jewelry with a large variety in terms of technique, materials, and forms etc. by the artists and designers studying in national and international circles
