Summary/Abstract: This research focuses on Afghan asylum seekers, who are generally less visible in the literature on forced migration and integration in Turkey. The aim of this research is to examine the media representations of Afghan refugees and the views of Afghan refugees about these representations. In this study, which was designed as a qualitative research, the data were obtained by examining newspaper news and interviews with Afghan refugees. The news, determined through purposeful sampling, were analyzed by critical discourse analysis. In the field dimension of the study, in-depth interviews were conducted with 28 Afghan refugees living in Konya. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed descriptively. The findings of the study showed that the number of news about Afghan refugees in the newspapers in the study group has increased in recent years. According to the findings, Afghan refugees are generally represented negatively in the news. The views of the participants on their representation in the media are generally shaped by whether they follow the news or not. Language deprivation and being psychologically affected were stated as the main reasons why the participants did not follow the media.
