Summary/Abstract: Vladimir Putin’s 2021 article on Ukraine wasprimarily dedicated to the notion that Ukraine ishistorically inseparable from Russia. He at least concededthat a Ukrainian culture and language exists. However,in his February 2022 speech, Putin ignores these ideascompletely, using revisionist history to eradicate an entirenation, its language and culture. According to Putin, thehistory of Ukraine is now solely the history of Russia.
