Summary/Abstract: From the region’s perspective, the 1922 Warsaw Accordbetween Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Poland was a significantstep in strengthening geopolitical interests and safeguardingagainst Russian aggression. Unfortunately, the agreementultimately failed. This year’s ratification by Finland’s parliamentof its application to join NATO can be seen as a finalstep in this process that began over 100 years ago.
