Summary/Abstract: During the study of adult education, I turned my attention to the subject of workers’ clubs and red corners. I tried to identify two levels of these organisations, namely the ideological and the utilitarian components. Given the complexity of the subject, I tried to group the information according to several geographical areas. I used the funds of the Central National Historical Archives, but also those of the Alba County Service of the National Archives. I also used the press, namely the newspapers Scânteia and Drumul Socialismului. The workers’ clubs in the urban space and the red corners, mainly in the rural one, represented above all depositories of the new political ideology. If the former started on pre-war premises, the latter represented exclusively the implementation of a Soviet model.
