Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyse how the mass-media influences the perception of the representations of evil, as reflected in Romanian contemporary fiction about childhood. Popular topics nowadays as phobias, anxiety, abandonment, discrimination, bullying, work migration, the dangers of technology, the concept of crisis, or the terrorism of the media are integrated one way or another into childhood contemporary novels proving that literature is also becoming an instrument for the dissemination of public discourse, understood as the dominant paradigm.
