Summary/Abstract: In his article, the author comments on the fundamental changes introduced to the canon substantive criminal law by the Apostolic Constitution of Pope Francis Pascite gregem Dei of 23rd May 2021, which comes into effect on 8th December 2021. After the reform of the matrimonial legal process in 2015, this is the second recodification of the entire canon law subsystem after the issuance of the CIC/1983. The first part of the article concerns the changes in the legislation itself, in the second part the author mentions in the consideration de lege ferenda the institutes of criminal law, which, on the contrary, were not affected by the new legislation, however desirable.
