Summary/Abstract: With the shift of borders to the Oder and Lusitanian Neisse rivers, the issue of regulating the administration of the Roman Catholic Church arose. This matter also concerned the former Prussian part of the archbishopric of Olomouc and the Kłodzko deanery subordinate to the archbishopric of Prague. Czech clergymen appeared in some of the local parishes, but holy masses in Czech did not arouse much interest among the local Czechs. The Czech language also returned to the liturgy in some parishes of the Silesian-Moravian borderland. Some priests were involved in spreading propaganda to join Czechoslovakia, and there were also attempts by the Czechoslovakian side to use Bishop Joseph Nathan in polemics with their northern neighbour. In connection with the Polish-Czechoslovakian conflict, there were demands for the displacement of Czech-speaking priests, but in the end this did not happen. The normalisation under canon law of border parishes belonging to the archdioceses of Olomouc and Prague before WWII was finally regulated by the apostolic constitution Episcoporum Poloniae coetus of June 28th 1972.
