Summary/Abstract: The community of Jews from Bacău was legally recognized in 1932, the year in which the statute and the regulation regarding the election of representatives in the leadership positions of the communities were drawn up and approved. From the drawing up of voter lists, candidate lists, ballots and continuing with the actual elections, the democratic principles of those times were respected, with only Jews, men and 21-year-olds having the right to vote. In 1932, Ozias Herscovici was elected president of the Jewish community in Bacău, so that in the 1934 elections his place would go to Lazăr Tecuceanu.
