Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on Anna Akhmatova’s image in the memoirs of older and younger contemporaries. Akhmatova, due to her very historicistic nature, had gone through three different epochs – the Silver Age, the cruel 1930–1940’s, and the “Khrushchev Thaw”, – and represented the link between generations. Her reflection is found in each period’s mirror, and she managed to become its emblem. The apposition of Akhmatova’s images related to different periods of her life, and memories of the day of her funeral allow us to see the contour of Anna Akhmatova’s fate. The poet carefully reconciled this image of her fate, and time itself verified it.
