Conspiracy Theories About the War in Ukraine

Summary/Abstract: The Russian invasion of Ukraine is unprecedented in recent history. Since the end of February 2022, fights have been taking place not only in Ukraine, but also in the media space, where all kinds of fake news are used, especially by Russians. Conspiracy theories play an important role in Russian disinformation campaigns. They are more or less likely but their impact on social attitudes should not be underestimated, as could be seen in recent years in the BREXIT referendum or the presidential elections in the United States. This article analyzes the conspiracy theories used by Russian propaganda during the invasion of Ukraine and their impact on the attitudes of societies and even state policies.
