Sport in the Everyday Life of the Interned Soldiers of the Ukrain Republic (Kalisz –Szczypiorno) 1921-1922

Summary/Abstract: Soldiers of the Army of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, who were in internment camps in Strzałków or Szczypiorno, tried to manage their time in some way. One of the ways to fill the individual days was sporting activity, and that varied – chess, football, volleyball. The competitions were not only in the camp, but there were also sports matches with the surrounding Polish teams, e. g. from Słupca. The article is based mainly on archival sources and on the press published in the detention camps Szczypiorno and Strzałków.
