Summary/Abstract: Walerian Nekanda Trepka (1584/1585-1640), nobleman from Lesser Poland, driven by hatred towards people not belonging to his class, set himself the task of describing all the cases of impersonation of the nobility he knew from all over Poland. Trepka described his search in the form of an extensive book, which also includes people from the former Kalisz voivodeship. The aim of this article is therefore to describe and attempt to verify Trepka’s findings for a total of twenty-two individuals from Kalisz district. Among those described, in nine cases Trepka made wrongful accusations (Reut, Kotowiecki, Niniewski, Pilchowski, Rościewski, Rzeszotarski, two Tytlewski’s, Żeromski/Żeroński), in nine he was right but not fully confirmed (Boczkowski, Kuleski, Kurowski, Ligeza, Rostoga, Różycki, Samocki, Szadurski, Wolski), in two he described people for unknown reasons (Komorowski, Strzałkowski) and two cases are difficult to identify (Breliński, Janowski). The article is also accompanied by a source appendix containing information about the above-mentioned persons.
