Summary/Abstract: The primary intention of this paper is to map the relationships between subordinates and superiors, as well as the issue of human right violations in the film Dogville, by Lars von Trier. The paper will show which identities are shared by the inhabitants of this fictional city, with special reference to the mechanisms by which they gain or lose them. The re-examination of relations: male-female, zoe-bios, slave-camper inmate aims to determine how and in what circumstances a free female person can become private property.
