Summary/Abstract: The objective of this study is to analyze the complex ramifications of one’s virtual identity, setting the premises for a responsible behavior towards the Internet usage, with emphasis on the interdependent relationship between the amount of provided information and the complexity of the received service, through a literature review of the types of identity found to be most relevant for the study, along with reflections on the future decentralized identity, and its transposition to Metaverse.
