The regime of family communication between relatives and close persons in the Cuban Family Code Project: the variables of an equation

Summary/Abstract: The Cuban Family Code Project reinforces the family communication system, extending it in addition to children and adolescents – with respect to whom communication also extends to other relatives and other affective referents, including their related fathers and mothers –, to other subjects in a situation of vulnerability in the socio-family environment such as older adults, sometimes trapped in the networks imposed by their own family caregivers and people with disabilities who can also be manipulated, isolating them from the rest of the family. Communication is recognized as a two-sided relational right, constitutionally protected, necessary for an adequate and harmonious development of the personality.
