Summary/Abstract: The essential instance of this research involves a critical-analytical presentation and description of certain (tactile, visual and auditory) motifs in the novel The Deacon of the Church of the Virgin Maryby Isidora Sekulić, in order to distinguish, through them, the author's representations of love in religion and the religious in love. The processes of knitting and interweaving are singled out as the basic principles of novel composition, and the focus of the research is directed towards those novel sensations produced by different forms of synesthetic permeation. In this context, artistic knots were found in the text, from which the thematization of otherness and otherness of the main character in relation to the social environment she belongs to, as well as the radical consequences of her deviation from the norm and expected, break through. In addition, during this analysis, certain passages of the novel were brought into connection with great musical and artistic achievements, and a short motivational basis for such a comparative approach was derived.
