Music, Fundamental Value of the Human Person and Source of the Dialogue of Freedom

Summary/Abstract: In its deep essence, music is an inner-soul phenomenon. The message of faith, invoking the supreme foundation of reality, raises an unconditional affirmation that at first sight seems to introduce an apparently insurmountable gap in the relationship between the parties to the dialogue, a gap that could call into question the very possibility of having an authentic open dialogue. The key to the solution of this fundamental problem lies in the special way in which the Christian faith is transmitted. Music, through its emulating, mobilizing, moralizing and optimistic content, is intended to contribute to the formation of a whole series of positive cultural qualities, absolutely necessary for spiritual-moral stability and for the sustainable development of young generations.
