Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the interbellum reception of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky's thoughts by representatives of the so-called neohumanist thought, South Slavic messianism, the idea of „svetosavlje” and the Serb „literary right”. The author's starting thesis is that they discussed Dostoevsky and Don Quixote as the ideal that one should strive for. ln the optics of the author's consideration are the matter of the breakdown of European Rationalism, Nietzsche and Dostoevsky, the role of Slavdom against the revolution and the relation toward Europe. ln the end, the author strives to answer the question what was it about Dostoevsky that attracted the Serbs and what is the explanation of the great love that Serbs have for him.
