Summary/Abstract: The article is an interpretation of the research method applied by Professor Stanisław Zapaśnik in his research works on Asian studies. Professor Zapaśnik was a philosopher and a linguist, but he also declared himself a cultural anthropologist. The basis of his anthropological tools comprised philosophical reflections (especially in the field of epistemology). The key issue of his theory was a specific understanding of such concepts as culture, categories of thinking or the principle of internal relation in logic. The main goal of his research was to make a deep anthropological description that arose from good ethnographic descriptions. In many respects, he came to similar postulates formulated by representatives of postmodern anthropology, although he did not agree with them in principle.
