Summary/Abstract: Hunedoara County is the keeper of an inexhaustible treasure of ecclesiastical architectural, pictorial and sculptural art, old and new alike. Immortal creations of the ancient folk craftsmen (known by name or lost forever under the anonymity of history) or of modern architects, these churches, built, from case to case, of stone, brick or wood, demonstrate, by their weight and variety, not only the steadfastness, but also the richness of expression of the Christian faith in these lands. The present study aims to present, in the form of a repertoire, all the orthodox places of worship in the county, both those functional from a liturgical point of view, many inscribed on the list of Romanian historical monuments, as well as those whose traces or vestiges contemporaneity can still perceive and capitalize on.
