Summary/Abstract: A large part of Nicolae Iorga’s historical activity was focused on the publication of the collections of original correspondence and documents and carrying out an intense correspondence with actors of the Romanian and universal cultural and political scene. On its turn, the Romanian historiography published both during the life of the historian and, especially, after his death, numerous volumes of letters sent by him or received from certain people. Gavril Precup was a professor and one of the personalities of the Bistriţa and Blaj intellectuals, who had a consistent correspondence with Nicolae Iorga, but who did not enjoy increased attention from historiography and the general public. Starting from these aspects, in the present paper, we aim to bring to your attention a brief retrospective analysis of the historiography dedicated to the correspondence of the polyhistor. Also, we aim to establish what are the historiographical contributions of Nicolae Iorga in capitalizing the documents from the Bistriţa archives (and not only) and, especially, to distinguish the analyzes, directions and interpretations proposed within them. Last but not least, we especially want to outline the analytical dimension of the correspondence Nicolae Iorga-Gavril Precup between 1911-1913, highlighting in an essentialized way the biography of the pedagogue, the thematic evolution of the letters and its specific elements.
