The name of the blogs and the spelling standard in the use of capital and small letters

Summary/Abstract: This article analyses the way of writing the names of Polish thematic blogs in the context of using capital letters. Authors may choose from one of five options: writing in accordance with the Polish spelling standard — the first word with a capital letter, writing in accordance with the English spelling standard — all word in capital letters, breaking all spelling rules — all words in small letters, writing all words in capital letters or unconventional writing. This shows the lack of explicit spelling rules in the virtual space. The article also attempts to indicate the bloggers’ motivation and the functions that can be performed by individual forms of writing.
