Summary/Abstract: Travelogue, also known as travelogue writing, is one of the oldest traditions of Persian literature. Initially, Persian travel books, which were about travels to imaginary lands, began to be written as a result of real journeys over time. From the Safavid period, the travels of Shiite scholars, pilgrimages and holy places, and their travels to India played a leading role in the spread of travelogues. With the Qajars taking over the shah in Iran, the journeys of official state officials, clergy, and people from different classes came forward. Important observations on the social life and living standards of the places visited were also included in the travels made during the Qajars period. One of the travelogues written during the Qajar Dynasty belongs to Mirza Muhammed Farahani. Mirza Muhammed Hüseyin Farahani, also known by his nickname Melikü'l-Küttab, returned to Tehran by completing his pilgrimage in 1886, which he started in 1885. His work, titled Sefername-yi Mirza Muhammed Hüseyin Ferahani, which includes the observations and experiences of the traveler's journey, was published in Tehran by making use of the sources of the period. In this study, based on Farahani's travel book, as well as various research, works in Persian literature the part of Ferahani's pilgrimage tour which covers part from Tehran to Istanbul is taken into the center. At this stage of his journey, Farahani visited cities such as Kazvin, Reşt, Enzeli, Baku, Batumi, and Tbilisi, respectively; and he reached Istanbul by passing through cities such as Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu, and Samsun via the Black Sea from Tbilisi.
