Summary/Abstract: Social studies is a course that includes many teaching techniques in the curriculum. According to the constructivist education approach, it is important for students to learn knowledge by experience. For this reason, some achievements in the social studies course, which includes many teaching techniques, can be revived in accordance with the tradition of meddah. In particular, the tradition of meddah, which is our intangible cultural heritage item, can be revived with the text, story and anecdote sections in the social studies textbooks of the 5th, 6th and 7th grades, and meaningful learning can be achieved by taking an active role in the teaching of these subjects as a small lecturer. In this study, by using the document analysis method, the sections that are suitable as narration according to the tradition of meddah and included in the social studies textbooks were determined according to the opinions of the researcher and two social studies education experts. According to the findings, it was seen that the animations related to the tradition of meddah were mostly in the field of culture and heritage learning and the social studies course was also suitable for the revival of this tradition. In addition, it is aimed to support constructivist education with the mediation activity.
