Summary/Abstract: The political alternative of „coming out from modernity” and of accepting postmodernity which would result in a definitive abandonment of modernity and its values would presuppose a serene contemplation, the acceptance of a hard, polemical, indecisive version. By referring to the (re)assessment of modernity with liberal signs / symbols, I tried to discover some elements capable of putting into practice the new political option grafted upon the structure of postmodernity - a new opportunity to re-evaluate modernity, to „read” the signs of an epoch as indicators. Do not forget, however, that the idea of Romanian modernity was built on a strong executive and a centralized administration, backed ideologically by the liberalism and conservatism. The liberalism hegemony turned liberalism into a metalanguage, enjoying the privileged status of being both a language and a currency exchange and measure for all the other political languages and currencies!
