Political authority in Ukraine in an attributive approach

Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The scientific aim of the article is to examine the characteristics inherent in political authority in Ukraine, as well as the factors and contextual conditions influencing the evolution of this category in the Ukrainian political system.THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The article uses an attributive approach that allows to combine the analysis of features attributed to political authority with reflection on the effectiveness of its impact while taking into account different time perspectives with an emphasis on current conditions and trends.THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: Based on the analysis of sociological data, the article discusses the key contextual conditions that affect the evolution of political authority in Ukraine. The first part of the study focuses on the historical context and specific features of political authority during the two Ukrainian revolutions. The second part is devoted to the changes that political authority experiences during the period of Russian aggression against Ukraine.RESEARCH RESULTS: The analysis identified the main features, conditions and factors constituting political authority in Ukraine. The mutual correlation of these elements, as well as the causes and sources of the emergence and crisis of political authorities on Ukrainian soil, was explained.CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The article can be treated as an introduction to the discussion on political authorities in Ukraine, as well as the dynamics of the internal political process as such, in particular in the post-revolutionary period and in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
