Summary/Abstract: It is evident that long-form storytelling puts an emphasis on character. In the character’s development and change, the audience finds their fascination with the TV series/serials. The complex dramas explore in depth the psychology of conflicting, complex heroes or antiheroes, who have crossed the line of conventional morality. Here, the “likeable” character with unchanging traits and behavior, is no longer interesting, contrary to the character who provokes empathy by exploring to the fullest the possibilities of self-realization through intellectual challenge, curiosity and emotion.
