Summary/Abstract: The reception of art is a two-sided process of act – creation and perception/reproduction. The works of art can be seen as a way of expression, giving free reign to the feelings of its author or as an impulse to provoke feelings in the recipient. Obviously, any product of art is both, but it can be perfectly appropriate as an expression, not as a stimulus for feeling or vice versa – the author may remain disappointed and still cause strong emotions and feelings in the recipient. Through the expressive means of art, the art creator transforms reality and recreates images that are the fruit of imagination, through which he evokes certain emotions and feelings. Art can be considered as a generator of emotions in the recipient in the historical, philosophical, aesthetic and cultural conditions in which he is placed. Based on them, the degree of coincidence between the expected and the newly adopted model can then generate a result that can be further processed. Aesthetic categories of art are fundamental and cannot be lost for long, as they are universal and historical. What can change and is normal to change occasionally is their manifestation, their individual expression.
