Summary/Abstract: Religion has been present in human life from the very beginning. Religion shaped appropriate social attitudes, helpful in everyday life. Man built sacral buildings for his deities, which were used to experience the sacred and create an atmosphere of prayer. The contemporary world of Western culture, in which Christianity was the predominant religion, has been religiously differentiated. Declarations that had not been present in the public space so far appeared. The pluralism of political, economic and moral life also affected the religious dimension. There is a need to undertake adequate religious education, which will shape appropriate attitudes towards the sacred space of a given religion. An important task in promoting religious education is addressed to the Catholic Church, which has a huge number of religious objects. The Church more and more often comes across a misunderstanding of what the sacral space and sacredness of a religious object are.
