Summary/Abstract: Born on July 19, 1932, Professor Alexandru Moșanu went through all the stages of Bessarabia’s post-war past: from the Romanian school with teaching in the Romanian language to the Soviet school - Russification laboratory; through the hardships of the famine, organized by the Soviets in 1946-1947, to the education in the USSR. He was eminent, active, brilliant. During the years of the partial liberalization of the Soviet system, Alexandru Moșanu was fully involved in the National Revival Movement, he advocated for the return and promotion of the Romanian identity of the Bessarabian Moldavians, for the history of the Romanians and the Romanian language. Professor A. Moșanu was the politician who drafted and read the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova against the Soviet Empire.
