Summary/Abstract: The interview, conducted in 2011, with the historian and politician Alexandru Moșanu, the president of the first Parliament, democratically elected in the former Moldavian SSR, tells about the difficult way out of the composition of the former Soviet empire. Under the leadership of A. Moșanu, the most important legislative acts were adopted, including the Declaration of Independence, which led to the separation of the former Soviet colony from Moscow. The ideal of union with the Motherland, Romania, which is contained in these documents, is yet to be realized.
