Summary/Abstract: There are several factors that influence different areas of our lives. We are influenced by the people around us, the music we listen to, the movies we watch, the books we read and more. All these influences impact either positively or negatively on our thinking, occupations and decisions. A direct influence is exerted by literature. After reading a literary work, no one remains the same. Through the example of the Russian classic Nicolae Gogol, this article will present some works of the writers, who directly or indirectly influenced Gogol’s works. Attention will be emphasised to Nicolae Gogol’s vision of the image of women in the theological context.
