The Pauline Loghion καινὴ κτίσις and its Traductological Fallacies

Summary/Abstract: The motive of the new creation (καινὴ κτίσις), found especially in 2Cor. 5:17, Gal. 6:15 and Rom. 8:22 (with a fresh new perspective), admits several philological and theological interpretations. The accurate translation into Romanian language depends on the ideatic background of the expression: either cosmological or anthropological, regarding the context of the epistle. The biblical meaning of the ”ktisis” may go beyond the literal sense, to include both the core nature of man and also the whole creation. In this later text, creation is personified in order to emphasize the wonder of the future glory of God’s sons. In the other texts, the new creation is also the beginning of final restoration of the Church, controls anyone who is involved. So, there are some important philological and theological nuances emerged from the original Greek, that Romanian biblical tradition, with the exception of a few, failed to depict. Through this paper, we aim to remove all the translation inaccuracies found in the Romanian biblical tradition regarding the concept of new creation.
