Summary/Abstract: Among the many consequences of accelerated development of technology, especially the Internet and social media (as one of the biggest inventions between the 20th and 21st century), which have left a recognisable mark in literature as well, this paper addresses the specific phenomenon that still provokes debate – Internet poetry. The topic is easy to research due to its accessibility and the fact that it is ‘widespread’. It is exactly the wide-spread, scattered, unregulated and chaotic nature of the matter of interest which results in the opinion that the quality of poetry has deteriorated. However, it is a fact that, today, Internet poetry (prose) is considered a legitimate (new) form of functioning and existence of literature. In such a dynamic process, for the purpose of this research, we are highlighting (Russian) women’s Internet poetry, as a specific subphenomenon of modern popular culture/art, with the goal of examining how much this form of poetry actually studies and references, among other things, the ‘old’, traditional, artistic values, and also with the goal of examining themes and thematic groups in order to determine which questions (and why) are addressed in Russian women’s Internet poetry.
